    Joshua grew up near Yosemite National Park, in Twain Harte, California; a small community set in the pine tree canopy of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Northern California. His Grandmother, an artist herself, pushed him to embrace the beauty of the area and introduced him to photography and the arts at a very young age.

    Growing up in his remarkable surroundings provided a canvas for growth in both photography and cinematography, as well as inspired Joshua’s hunger for adventure and the outdoors. After graduating from SDSU with a BA in Theater, Television, & Film, he moved to Los Angeles and began his career in Cinematography. He is an active member of IATSE Local 600, the International Cinematographers Guild, and is based out of Los Angeles, CA.

    Besides shooting for major networks and production companies, Josh regularly works for several top ASC cinematographers, trusted to operate as well as shoot 2nd unit and additional photography. His close involvement on large scale projects has provided Josh first hand knowledge and experience with several styles and technique of prominent filmmakers and productions, giving voice to his own work, and elevating his knowledge and abilities to provide a top tier cinematic experience through the lens.

    Fortunate to maintain professional and mentoring relationships with several cinematographers and directors over the years has rapidly boosted Josh’s skills, creativity, and understanding of the film making process. Joshua’s success stems not only from the incredible support, influence, and friendships of these top professionals, but from his talented team of filmmakers he brings onto his shoots. The work ethic and short-hand of Josh and his crew allows creative collaborations to flow, as well as provides fast and efficient solutions to technical and challenging obstacles associated with productions both large and small.

    Joshua’s credits include prominent movies, television shows, music videos, documentaries, and commercials. He’s has dove into the depths of the ocean to capture the perfect shot, as well as logged hundreds of hours in helicopters and planes, capturing stunning ariel footage for movies and television. Traveling the world to help tell stories both real and fictional is not just his job, but his passion. Josh’s creativity, understanding of composition, storytelling ability, knowledge of cinema gear, and attention to detail makes him a frequently sought after cinematographer and camera operator in Los Angeles and abroad.

    Outside of production, you’ll find Josh adventuring with his still camera, aiming to capture the beautiful, unique, chaotic, and interesting stories and visuals of the world we live in. He is an active diver, backpacker, snowboarder, and climber, as well as a musician.
