Text Messaging & Opt-In
How crew consent to receive text messages from The Daily DoP.
The program
The Daily DoP is a film-production management tool operated by Joshua R. Turner. Crew on a production receive transactional text messages (SMS and WhatsApp) — task assignments, questions directed to them, schedule and gear changes — and can text back to reply, add their own tasks/notes/calendar events, or send a file. It is not used for marketing.
How crew opt in
- A production owner sends a crew member a private invitation link.
- The crew member opens the link and completes the join form, entering their own mobile number.
- On that same form they must actively check a consent box (unchecked by default) before they can submit. The box reads exactly:
This is the actual join form (invitations are private, so it isn’t publicly linked):
The consent box is unchecked by default, and the submit button stays disabled until it is checked — only then can the crew member submit and begin receiving messages. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. They can change channels or remove their number any time in Settings, or reply STOP at any time.
